Frozen Hash - Piatella 2g

Frozen Hash Piatella is the slab-shaped variety from the Mesh-Flash Frozen Hash line. The profile is earthy and spicy, with a light sweetness in the background. You buy it as a 2 g unit, cold processed.

Aroma and taste

At its core, the profile is earthy and spicy. A fine sweetness only reveals itself gradually and stays in the background. It never covers the earthy base profile. If you like the classic hash character, you will find it in this variety.

What the name Piatella means

Piatella, often also spelled Piattella, goes back to the Italian word piatto. It means “flat”. The term comes from the hash scene in Barcelona. There it refers to hash that, after the resin glands have been separated, is cold cured over a longer period and shaped flat in the process. A soft, creamy consistency is typical of this style. For our variety, the only production detail given is “cold processed”. Curing in this style is not stated for our variety.

At Mesh-Flash, Piatella is the name of one of our three Frozen varieties. The name describes the shape: our variety comes as a flat slab with a smooth, homogeneous consistency. You will find more background on Frozen Hash and its styles in the guide What is Frozen Hash?

Piatella compared with Blueberry Fresh and Purplegum

All three Frozen varieties come in 2 g units and are cold processed. They differ in aroma and appearance.

• Blueberry Fresh is the fruity variety with bright berry sweetness and a soft base note.
• Purplegum combines sweet berry fruit with a bubblegum note and has a violet-tinted mass.

If you are looking for fruit, Blueberry Fresh or Purplegum are a better fit. You will find all varieties in the Frozen Hash collection, and all three together in the 3für2 Bundle Meshflash Frozen Hash.
